Staturs Report: Open for Business Initiative’s Business Sector Strategy for Manufacturing

Earlier this year, the Ontario government committed to address the top five regulatory issues facing Ontario manufacturers within 60 days as part of its Open for Business initiative’s Business Sector Strategy. Over the summer, CME took the lead of consulting members and engaging industry associations to identify the manufacturing sector’s top five Ontario regulatory priorities in Ontario and on August 18th, we formally launched the initiative in partnership with the Ontario government.

Now that we have passed the initiative’s halfway point, we are pleased to report on the progress accomplished so far and the status of each of the five priority issues.

  2. Total Bill Impact (TBI) assessment for Energy
  3. Toxics Reduction Act
  4. Air Emission Standard (Reg. 419/05)
  5. Ministry of Labour Inspectorate Challenges
