Nuclear Energy Panel

Nuclear power meets more than 55% of Ontario electricity needs and remains one of the cheapest power sources (on a dollar per megawatt basis) in Ontario’s electricity portfolio. The refurbishment and continued operation of Ontario’s 12 nuclear reactors employs approximately 24,000 individuals and provides economic benefits to the province in the order of $5 billion in labour, fuel and equipment spending. 

The Nuclear Energy Panel will explore opportunities available for Ontario companies in the nuclear supply chain, both in Ontario and abroad.  Speakers include:

Smart Grid Panel

A Smart Grid is an intelligent electricity infrastructure that uses technology such as sensors, monitoring, communications, automation and computers to improve the flexibility, reliability and efficiency of the electricity system. The Smart Grid forum estimates that Ontario will invest $390 million per year over the next five years into the development of the Smart Grid.

The Smart Grid Panel will explore opportunities available for Ontario companies in the smart grid sector, both in Ontario and abroad. Speakers include:
